In 1933, when a bounty was put on his head by Nazi Germany, he went into exile in the United States. Very quickly, he put his notoriety at the service of great causes that would change society for the long term. Militant pacifist, humanist engaged in the fight against homophobia, racism and anti-Semitism, he will be identified as a subversive spirit who threatens... the security of the United States.

Watched day and night, wiretapped, private life sifted through, J. Edgard Hoover, the all-powerful boss of the FBI, tracked him down to his death as the most dangerous of Soviet spies.
